Remember last year I had a Valentine's Day giveaway? Well this year I'm doing it again, and the message is still the same.
I think there is not enough emphasis in the world on loving yourself, respecting yourself, and supporting yourself. So many negative messages bombard us every day from everywhere - every one trying to convince us that we aren't good enough just the way we are.
ITS ALL RUBBISH!!!
Of course we are good enough just the way we are - we are PERFECT just the way we are! And its about time that we loved and respected ourselves enough to ignore everything that tries to tell us otherwise.
So in light of that, I'm having a giveaway as encouragement to fall in love with you.
Here is your encouragement - 5 metres of gorgeous tropical cotton, a roll of ric-rac, six lovely buttons, and a vintage pattern to make a blouse, shorts, and two lengths of skirt!
If I was you I'd make the blouse and the skirt!
And all you have to do to be in the draw to win is comment below and tell me what you love about you. Its that easy.
I'll start. I love my curves. I have big boobs, a curvy round butt and a tiny waist and I love it. I love my beautiful blue eyes. I love my long, strong fingernails. I love my ability to love and accept others for their differences. I love my creativity. I love my ability to sew. I love that I've created this blog and this community of beautiful women. I love me.
The competition is open to everyone all around the world, and will run until midnight on the 19th of February. I will announce the winner next Saturday.
Love to you all
Beccie

I love my collarbone! I love how it always makes me feel sexy even when my weight fluctuates and I plan to flaunt it til the end of time! Great giveaway!! Fingers crossed!
ReplyDeleteI love my face. One eyebrow always looks permanently cocked, just a teeny bit, which fits my inner cheekiness that is always ready to sass whoever I'm interacting with. I love my nose that I've never once, not in my entire life, doubted the shape of, because as far as noses go, all of them look weird and mine is an excellent shape of weird.
ReplyDeleteI love my body, it brought 6 kids into this world. My son, and 5 babies for couples as a gestational surrogate. Sure, it's not perfect anymore, but it's mine.
ReplyDeleteI love my eyes. They are very expressive and a lovely shade of green. I also love my curves. My figure fits wonderfully into vintage (or vintage style) fashions and allows me to feel confident in myself.
ReplyDeleteI love my creativity and my passion for learning. I love my idealism and optimism and dedication to happiness.
ReplyDeleteI really need practice in this so here goes. I love my red, naturally curly hair. I love my ability to nurture my family. I love that I can cook and sew, knit, and crochet just like my grandmother and her mother before.
ReplyDeleteI love my blue eyes and long fingers and, some of the time, my fair fair skin.
ReplyDeleteI love my boobs. They are small but have just successfully nursed my baby girl for a whole year. Small but mighty!
ReplyDeleteHi - It isn't quite Valentines Day here yet - USA :) - I Love that no matter what has happened to me I have not allowed harsh words or opinions destroy who I am. Sometimes when you are a creative person others can be cruel. I am very creative - love to sew and love the vintage looks. My grandparents would play Glen Miller music and dance in the living room - She had what I would call Ginger Roger shoes - from when she was young and I would watch those movies with her where Ginger had those beautiful gowns. I love that I am built "sturdy" kinda like a Shetland Pony - haha. But still curvy :) I love that people often think I am a lot younger than I am - which makes me feel good about myself. I love that I like the beautiful vintage sewing machines that had all the artwork on them, I wish they could tell us about all the wonderful things that were created on them and tell about the ladies who would sew them. Thank you for your contest and I am looking forward to see who wins!
ReplyDeleteI love my blue eyes, & blonde hair & fair skin.. I love wearing my red lipstick. I love my curves. I kind of love my big boobs, but only sometimes. I love that i can sew. I love that i can understand people, & always accept them for who the are. Oh, & I love how much that I love my cat Mrs Molly...
ReplyDeleteI love my ability to move people through my singing. I love how I can present them with music from hundreds of years ago and make it relevant and special to them, regardless of age or language. I love seeing how it inspires them. I love how my vocal training is helping me to embrace my imperfections in all of their glory. I love myself for who I am, and who I hope to become.
ReplyDeleteNot so long ago, few years in the past I was the shyest girl in the world. Not beeing satisfied with my body, hair, nose, ears made me so very insecure. I was never thin enough, my face was too round, my hair too short. One day by accident I discovered a group of people dancing lindy hop. Trying to get my friends to go with me to classes and not succeding in that I went there by myself. It took all the curage in the world...I almost didn't go. After discovering lovely people there, who are now my good friends, great music and amazing feelings that overwelm you while you dance to ella fitzgerald or the andrew sisters, little by little i gain my confidence. I still am a little bit insecure but my way of thinking about my body changed. Maybe my round face is not that bad at all...it looks old fashioned :) so, here is my story :) I love me <3
ReplyDeleteOh, this is hard. I love my waist which is small, my skin which is tough and resilient, that my body works pretty well for its age! I love my resilient spirit which has kept going through so much! I'm learning to love the rest!
ReplyDeleteThird time lucky!!!aaaargh.
ReplyDeleteI love my curls and my curves. I love my crafting skills, ever learning. I love my generosity and my willpower even when it slides.
I love that I am fiercely independent. I love my creativity. I love that I can make things grow, including my beautiful daughter. I love the inner joy that she has brought me.
ReplyDeleteOh goodness how sweet of you, Becs...lovely idea!! Well what can i say...i cannot hide the fact anymore i am totally mad, i am loving me, myself and Irene after all...and let me tell you.. that is hard work...to love all three of me..hihi. Since about 5 years i actually started to love my bust/waist/hip- hourglass figure.. I started wearing fifties/sixties style and suddenly the hourglass was actually working for me, so..really loving that. Apart from that i love the fact that i actually have this heartshape thingy going on on upperlip..somebody told me that was so beautiful and i never even saw it and only noticed not everybody has that after that remark..hihi..and well love being able to knit and sew and i love the fact i can actually make people smile and i love i found out i can bake too ,,yayyy, my carrot cake is a killer!! (in a not actually dying way of course)..well done loving myself in public now....dikke kus
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely giveaway Beccie! Thank you! ; )
ReplyDeleteLet's see... I love my naturally curly hair that I don't even have to pin curl! I love my creativeness that lets me pursue a lot of different hobbies including knitting, crochet and sewing. I love my natural sportiness. And I love that I'm not afraid to dress in vintage! ❤
xox,
bonita of Lavender & Twill
I love my eyelashes and eyebrows (when they are shaped lol) and the shape of my eyes.
ReplyDeleteI love being able to make my kids laugh and feel loved.
I love my strong, healthy body and mind and my sporting ability that I am blessed with.
Thank you for a lovely giveaway and helping us to love ourselves more!
I love my smile, it's always genuine and shows my big heart for the world to see.
ReplyDeleteI love me too Beccie, it is a great thing. I didn't always love me but every year I got a bit better at dressing how I wanted, regardless of fashion. Then I started to show people other parts of me and now people pretty much know it all, and luckily for me, and them, they seem to love me too!
ReplyDeleteI find it funny when people wish they were younger again because I get better every single day and I love myself more. I really wanted to say I love myself sic there but can't remember what show that is from, anyone?
love your stories people, happy valentines ♥♡♥♡
Everyone would say they love my big boobs but I dont see that. I love my smile and open heart for my husband to be
ReplyDeleteEveryone would say they love my big boobs but I dont see that. I love my smile and open heart for my husband to be
ReplyDeleteWow thanks for a wonderful opportunity Beccie. xx
ReplyDeleteI love me a lot! I love that although my mum drives me crazy, I have her strength and persistence. I love that although I haven't always treated myself well I have finally recognized my own importance, and that my soul is worth nurturing as much as my partner, kids or anyone else. I love that, although late to the party, I am finally loving myself, I am eating well and exercising more because I want to take care of myself, not because I want to be a certain weight or size.
I love that I can do fine skills such as sewing, knitting and crochet, but that I can also build on a large scale and produce furniture and garden beds. I love that I have taken the time to learn about better food choices for myself and family and that consequently my kids and I eat fresh homegrown organic heirloom produce. I love that I can grow enough food there's spares to give away. I love that I can accept the consequences of my actions.
I love that I can turn my hand to almost anything! Trying new things is awesome :-)
ReplyDeleteDear Beccie,
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful idea to reflect the things we love about ourselves.
I love my boobs and my hair, and I love my life with sewing, my dear husband and my friends!
I would definitely make the dress!
Hope to win this time!
Kathi
How sweet of you! :)
ReplyDeleteI love my thick curly hair and my olive complexion as well as my strong muscular legs and my height. I'm happy to be blessed with such wonderful attributes. <3
I love how I value everything in life. I rather be happy with what I have, instead of going branded and expensive.
ReplyDeleteWell.............I used to have nice legs, small nice feet and great hazel eyes. Now I have ok legs, feet that get me around and dim hazel eyes. I love that I am still trying, struggling and will never give up.
ReplyDeleteThanks Beccie! I love my intelligence and my empathy, both central to my job as a nurse.
ReplyDeleteI love my eyes. They're the one thing I seem to always get compliments on.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea :)
ReplyDeleteI love that I have the courage to make unconventional choices, being an artist and married to an artist, and unschooling our children, and wearing my homesewn vintage wardrobe daily!
That makes me happy xxx
I love that I can sew and knit my own clothes. I have my own style that makes me an individual :-)
ReplyDeleteI love that I am back sewing with inspiration from the incredible Becci from Sew Retro Rose. I love that I am a breast cancer survivor of over 14 years and still have great boobs. I love my life and I love the strength I get from my amazing family and friends.
ReplyDeleteThank you for reminding me❤️
ReplyDeleteI love my boobs :) It took me a long time to come to love them but I would be lost without them now!
ReplyDeleteI also love my talent for sewing, something that was taught to me by my nan.
I love that I am different and like standing out from the crowd!
I love me from my head down to my toes and all my curves in between. I love that I don't give a damn and wear what I love ALL the time! I love my inner goddess. I love my hands that create all manner of wonderful things. I love that I keep learning, sharing and loving. I am me and that is enough
ReplyDelete:D I just defended and deposited my Doctoral Dissertation, therefore, I now officially have a PhD in 18th and 19th century American Art History and Visual Culture. I love the fact that I have the moxie, talent, and "stick-to-it-ness" to achieve such a huge thing. I'm the first one in my family to do so and I'm very proud. I love the way my brain works: how it makes connections and unravels theory. I love how I can get inspired at the strangest moments, often doing the most mundane things like showering. I have to keep a pad and pen in the bathroom just so that I don't lose my train of thought. I love that I'm a strong person with a huge heart. Most especially, I love that I can inspire my students to love art! :) It's so wonderful when the whole class erupts into a discussion because of something I said. I make them think. Oh, and before I forget, I love that I'm a spitfire. I seriously don't take crap, I don't give up, and I most certain never surrender.
ReplyDeleteI love my red hair! It is all natural and I was bullied at school for it, but I know now they'd all be jealous!
ReplyDeleteThis is an amazing idea as always.
ReplyDeleteI struggle continuously with my self respect, love and body image, and things like this force me to realise that there is literally nothing wrong with my body.
But honestly, in the back of my mind? I love all of me.
There's things I'd like to change, sure, but this body has been through the wars and is still standing.
Through illness after illness, hangover after hangover (after hangover after hangover) and everything inbetween and outside - my body is still there. My body has survived the frankly awful, self-destructive things I've done to it, and every scar is a reminder that I'm stronger than absolutely anything thrown at me. Even when I drink myself into oblivion!
I love my jiggly fat belly, my stretch marks that feel comforting when you run your hands across them, I love my strong thighs that wrap around my boyfriend (although mainly to prove I can throw him off the bed by my thighs alone). I love my disproportionately small boobs for my size, because they're fun and jiggly and they are cute regardless. I love my small waist and how my big hips create a dramatic shape. I also love the shape of my legs.
I adore my hair, and my eyes, although wonky have a certain charm to them. My wonky ass smile is pretty, and my laughter lines at a young age prove I've been having a whale of a time up until now, and remind me to keep on laughing.
In a nutshell, I love all of me, warts and all, because if you can't accept yourself at your worst, you don't deserve to be at your best.
What a lovely idea. What do I love about myself? Hmmm. My greenish brown eyes and my ears. I also love that I can create things by sewing, knitting, painting to the best of my ability and that I can more or less speak 4 languages.
ReplyDeleteI love my lips, I love my tiny boobs, I love my strong jaw and my brain!
ReplyDeleteI love my calves, my hair and back. I love being both book smart and street smart. I love that I have traditional skills and a traditional outlook but work in a non-traditional (for women) role!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful opportunity, my dear Beccie !! I love my desire for self-improvement, my restless mind and my strong legs. I know this is not much, but if I add a loving heart for other humans, it may be acceptable .... Thank you for giving us this opportunity to share many good feelings.
ReplyDeleteI love how I pursue a diverse range of interests (vintage, sewing, cooking, horse ownership, animal rescue and education), my ability to be selfless, my wicked sense of humor and how it all works together to make me a quirky individual.
ReplyDeleteI love my brain and intelligence and that I'm a good learner. I love that I care about others and try hard to be there for friends when they need me. I also love my creativity and 'try anything' mentality. Thanks for the competition Beccie! Rachael
ReplyDeleteWOW, where do I start? I love that I am a survivor, even more than that I have learned to thrive. I love that I am open-minded and have the desire to continue to learn and grow. Oh, I also love how I easily make new friends from all over the world and learn of their cultures. It is exciting really. I could go on and on about me but that would be immodest, giggles.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing via this give-a-way. This is something I would like to incorporate when my blog grows up. :-)
Cheers,
Lyric
OMG, I am here rereading the post and now tears are in my eyes, Beccie. Really, I did not even remember what the give-a-way was for I commented because I simply love spending time with the Retro Rose Ladies. Truly, I wish I could "meet" each of you IRL.
DeleteThank you, Beccie, for the give-a-way. And, thank you Sew Retro Rose's Lovely Ladies for the comraderie.
Cheers,
Lyric
Hmm. Self love is difficult. So many negative voices in my head! But I'll give it a go.
ReplyDeleteI love my natural hair color. I understand that many a lady would think it mousy and in need of dyeing, but I think it looks great on me. I love my tiny waist. I love my voice, and that I can use it to communicate so many ideas and emotions. I love that my mind loves to cling to new information and that I learn quickly.
And if it were up to me, I'd definitely go for the skirt and blouse option. Too cute!
(I, uh, tried to post this once and it vanished. Maybe this will work?)
I love my great sense of humour, my ability to connect with people and that I am down to earth. I like my hair colour and I like my glasses.
ReplyDeleteI love the fabric and a new skirt and blouse from a vintage fabric suits me just fine...I hope I win. I would love that!
What a great idea! I know that I (as do many other women) certainly struggle with my self-esteem at times so this is a great opportunity to both work on my self-love AND get an entry in for an awesome giveaway haha!
ReplyDeleteI love my strength and my fierce independence. I also love that I am kind, compassionate, and silly. I know that I have to work on my self-love in terms of my body but I will say that I love my waist and my blue eyes. :)
Oh gosh darnit Google always eats my comment if I dont log in first. Boo!
ReplyDeleteAnyways - I love that I am creative and bright - literally! People can see me from a mile off and usually remember me. I am kind to people and have excellent friends. I love that I am small but strong and the shape that CrossFit has given me. And I love my strange coloured eyes (green and orange) and that I was born in Transylvania. I've never met ANYONE who has a similar story to me and I feel that makes me super unique ;-)
I love that I'm my own best friend :)
ReplyDeleteI love my eyes :))) They are quite beautiful I think :P
ReplyDeleteWow, i have never actually typed this, i have been through alot of self image and all those kind of issues but recently i have started to love and accept myself! I love how my hair is really long and thick, i love how im really tall (6'3) i love my eyelashes because they are really long and curly, I love how no matter how hard something is i will have a go at it anyway and if i persevere it usually turns out pretty good. I love how confident i have become and how far ive come in the past two years, i love how that im and 18 year old male and i love sewing and fashion - gender roles wont stop me from loving it. Love your blog, been reading it for over a year! Keep it up, i look forward to your posts all the time! I hope i win <3 Marko xxx
ReplyDeleteHello All.
ReplyDeleteI love that I made a very conscious decision before I hit 40 last year, to stop holding myself back because I thought I wasn't good enough in all aspects of life.
I stopped 'not making that dress until I was thin' and made it anyway, in the size that I am. Life is too short to wait for lovely things.
I did what I'd always wanted to do, started making bags and selling them, and I started graciously accepting compliments about them (rather than saying, oh they aren't that good) because I *am* good enough. And I'm getting better all the time.
I stopped crash dieting and abusing my body because I am gorgeous in the body I have - I entered a plus size modelling competition and became one of the models for a vintage style clothing company (Voodoo Vixen) There is no hiding me any more - my photos are out there on the internet.
I stopped thinking I was a *sh*t* mother and realised that actually, I am a good mum and I do the best that I can do for my beautiful boys. They have an amazing life and are loved more than anything by both of their parents.
I accepted that not being perfect is perfectly fine because nobody is.
Thanks to the great spell caster (Chief Priest Amros) who help me to bring back my boyfriend of over 3 years back to me within 2days this man is real a great man the great spell caster i have ever seen in this life he is truthful and honest his words is final i will remain thankful to him he is my father my savior thank you Chief Priest Amros for your good work, i will advice everyone that need help to get their ex back to contact Chief Priest Amros on his email: holytempleofsolution@hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteDon't get wasted I am here to talk about my past experiences with spell casters..i had problems with my relationship and i did all to make sure that my woman never break up with me..all in the midst of this, i lost concentration at work and things went really bad for me as i lost my job too..the little money i saved was what i tried to get my wife back with even if i will loose all..i was too desperate and i was taken advantage of as i lost the same money on two different casters from Nigeria. of course i trusted them too much and never knew they did nothing for me so my woman went ahead with breaking up with me..i confronted them that they failed their promise and ever since then, i have never heard a world again from them..That was how fake casters ended my relationship with my woman and i planned i was going to stop everyone like them..i met with another that promised me to get her back to me and i almost laughed and said it was another lie, but he wasn't as he did cast a love spell on her and now we are talking of why we did break up and coming back together in just two days and not months like the other did made me wait..you see why you have to open you eyes and think before the liars here plays with your heart and trust like a toy.{GREATOGUDUGU@GMAIL.COM}tel.+2348057266712..he can also help you to solve any problem…Lol I am very happy now.Claudy
